Tuition and Financial Aid

TUITION

As an independent school, St. Paul Academy and Summit School does not receive funding from local or state government. To offset educational expenses, we charge tuition for each student. Tuition alone, however, does not cover the cost of educating each child. The School’s endowment and gifts from alumni/ae, parents, and friends help close the gap.

SPA Tuition Rates 2008–09
Lower School (K–5) $20,620
Middle School (6-8) $21,520
Upper School (9–12) $22,410

FINANCIAL AID

An investment in education pays dividends for life. Like any investment, however, matching resources to costs can be difficult for many families. SPA is proud of our long history of helping families make an independent school education possible for their children. Because SPA is committed to enrolling a diverse body of motivated students, we offer financial aid for those who qualify. Our financial aid awards meet the difference between what a family can afford and the cost of tuition. Financial aid consists entirely of grants that need not be repaid.

Payment Options

Tuition payments are made in two installments each year, due July 31 and November 30. To assist families for which this might be difficult, SPA also offers an eight-payment plan. For a fee of $45, arrangements can be made to pay tuition in eight installments, beginning in July prior to each academic year. Forms are given with contracts each year.
